FUR..

Real or Fake?
I have been wanting to make a blog about the popular fur fashion. Although I'm not into REAL fur..I prefer fake (I am very much against animal cruelty, I think it's horrible. I can't immagine what is so amazing about wearing a dead fox around your neck with his little claws still hanging on...Those little creatures are usually skinned alive! Can you imagine being skinned alive for money?). BUT....I love fake fur. I think it feels nicer to the touch, and it can look very real. I just recently bought a big fur hat from Topshop. It's pretty big and warm and well worth the money. I wear it everywhere I go, ecspesially now when it's winter and very cold fur can come in handy. I was also very lucky to get a wool sweater with fur on (from Zara) as a birthday gift from my wonderful boyfriend.

This is the one and only...

And here's a silly picture of me wearing it..in my dark room...
The sweater from Zara..I wear it almost everyday, it's so cozy.

I would love to have a fur coat/jaket..it looks great and it's very warm. But I honestly don't think I would be able to wear the real kind. It just wouldn't feel right to come home to may little dog and pet him...
But if I would get one I'd probably get one similar to this one but a bit bigger (I'm talking about the first one)

Tattoos

Pretty much my whole life I have been interested in art. And from a very young age I got interested in tattoos, and I decided that when I would become 18 I would finally get a tattoo. The time has come and I have been thinking alot about what to get. I wouldn't get a tattoo unless I would have been wanting it for a long time. I've been wanting to get an Ankh tattoo for a couple of years now. But I think I will get it some time later when I'm sure wich body part should get the honor..haha.

My dad was working on sea, and that's pretty much what he has done his whole life (he even owns a store where he is selling fish...not alive ones that swim around in a tank). So I wanted to get an anchor tattoo in honor of my dad. I came up with the idea a while ago to decorate it with some flowers (for mom). I will probably get the tattoo in January 2011...and I'm so excited!
This is just a sketch I made...it's only the idea that I want the tattoo to be about, I plan on changing it or just letting the tattoo artist maybe design it.
What do you guys think about it?

Winter coats and Edie Sedgwick

I have been checking out coats for the winter. It is so cold here in Iceland, so obviously we need coats to keep us warm. Nobody likes being frozen, but at least we can try and keep ourselves warm with style.
I have been very interested in the 60's style. Old is new. I love the shape of the coats that were so popular in the 60's, the so called "bell" shaped coats. They are shaped like a bell or you could say it is shaped after the letter "A".
What kind of a coat are you longing for in the winter?

The most known models from that time are including, the famous muse of the very well known pop artist Andy Warhol, Edith Sedgwick. Edie was an artist, she even did her own make up. She was Andy's muse, the queen of his Factory, his films. I think most of us have seen the movie about her, Factory Girl, starring Sienna Miller.

Edie's last film was Chiao Manhattan, wich is about her life. She is talking about her drug trips and her life. I recommend watching it.

As you can see in this picture, Edie liked to wear gigantic earrings. She was also known for the size of her earrings. And of course her make up and hairstyle.
